The GoPiGo robot as Starter Kit from Dexter Industries contains everything you need to build a robot based on Raspberry Pi. Included is a Micro SD card with a ready-to-use operating system. I have added some more sensors to the kit. For example a RGB color sensor and an IMU sensor to measure the movements of the robot based on the accelerations. First I will build up the robot and put it into operation with the distance sensor and servo.
On the following picture you can see all the components that are part of the starter kit. So it is a complete robot kit including the Raspberry Pi computer.

I found the instructions to be very detailed and very well explained with the pictures. The fact that it is only available in English doesn’t bother me as every step is explained in detail as a picture. The assembly of the robot was very fast and was done after about 30 minutes.

Also there are more than enough of all screws and over time some of them can get lost and you would have to get a replacement.
Quality of the GoPiGo Kit
The quality of the components is very high and everything fits together perfectly. No annoying protective foils had to be removed and the acrylic glass plates were also marked. Also no residues were to be removed with the acrylic glass. All in all you could easily put the parts together and everything really fit. Even the small details like a spacer on the motor shaft show that the whole robot kit is very well thought out. I have built quite different robot kits for the Raspberry Pi but everything did not fit together so easily and well.
On the following picture you can see the components. Everything has been thought of and even the screwdriver has a very good quality.
I like the kit very much and the robot makes a very good impression on me. The assembly worked very well thanks to the simple and illustrated instructions. Since all screws were there and much more I did not encounter any problems. The drillings all fit and the acrylic glass plates are even marked what is above. I have never seen this level of comfort and assistance with many robot kits before. I am very excited about the quality of the software that comes with the kit.
